The world is a pretty amazing place, isn’t it? Billions of people living here and everyone seems to be searching for the meaning. Some people live to work, some people live to travel, and some just live.
Whenever I think about life in general and why we’re here, how we got here and what’s beyond this planet, I’ll be honest…I get extreme anxiety. I can’t watch any of those space shows, and when I look up at the sky some nights, I get way into my head and the feeling of being miniscule becomes completely overpowering.
Because let’s face it, we ARE miniscule. There is so much out there that we don’t know about. There could be an underlying reason we’re all here that we haven’t learned yet. Our lives could be cut so short without even the slightest warning.
So where does that leave you? In my eyes, it leaves you with only one requirement – to live your life to YOUR fullest potential, not someone else’s.
We’re mostly all brought up with the same lesson. Once you become an adult, the next steps are to get a job, find someone, settle down, get a house, start a family, and work to save for your retirement. Once you retire, then you can live.
Well, what if you don’t get that chance? What if you fall deathly ill at 41, or are in an accident that takes your life? What if your body isn’t what it used to be by the time you retire, or what if you can’t afford to retire? These are all far too common scenarios that people every day are facing. So how can you change that for yourself?
You’ve got goals and dreams, I’m sure. We all do. If your dream is to wait to live your life when you’re older then that’s fine, by all means do that. But this blog post probably won’t appeal to you. Now if you’re anything like me, your dream is to live your life now, and every damn day.
Of course there are a lot of barriers and obstacles in life, money being one of the biggest. I’m not saying book an around the world vacation for tomorrow (but all the power to ya if you do that!). What I’m preaching here is to make the most out of every day you have, and do what makes you happy.
As simple as this concept sounds, it’s hard sometimes to know where to start. So here are some starting points for you.
3 simple actions to start NOW to live your life to your fullest potential.
Step 1: Outline your goals and dreams.
For example: I’m sure you have a job, but is this job one that you jump out of bed for in the morning, excited to get started and enjoy every second of it? No? Well, why not? If you had a dream job, one that would make you feel that feeling every morning, what would it be? What would you spend your life doing if you could do anything? Think about how you want to feel in your life, where you want to be in X amount of years, what will you have overcome?
Step 2: Create it.
How can you achieve your goals and dreams? There are people out there that I’m sure you feel are living your perfect life. Well my friend, anything is possible and the only thing holding you back from that perfect life is you. You can live your life following the paved path, or you can explore and create your own path. There might be times you trip and fall, but as long as you get back up again and head towards those dreams, your dedication will bring you there. That dream job? Create it. Don’t spend your life doing something you hate every day, trust me, it’s draining.

Step 3: Be the true you.
I don’t mean this in the overly thrown around term “just be yourself”. I mean this as deep as it can possibly go. Take time to get to know yourself from the inside out. Sit in silence and be with your thoughts every single day. Take yourself out to experience new things. Meet new people and note what you liked about them. Note what you do and don’t like about yourself, and how you can change that. A lot of the time the focus is put too much on loving the outside that the inside gets incredibly neglected. Learn to love yourself and be exactly who and how you want to be.
The sky is the limit here, folks. Spend your life doing what you truly love, surrounded by those you love, and projecting love. You are the only person who can bring yourself there, and you’re probably the only thing holding yourself back. It’s a scary venture at first but trust me, it will be so worth it in the end.
